Our Vision

Arnold Hall is dedicated to providing students a unique and distinctive living environment enabling them to become successful at West Virginia University. Arnold Hall strives to help students excel academically, socially, and personally. Arnold Hall will provide students an environment that fosters growth and change for academic and personal success. This will be achieved by integrating academics with a model that combines curricular/co-curricular volunteerism and guided service learning with the larger university, local, and global community.

This model will provide opportunities to develop the academic, leadership, and social skills that students need to be successful not only at West Virginia University but also in a global setting. The programs provided for students aim to ensure that they have a successful transition to college as well as an engaged first year.. The experiences provided at Arnold Hall give students the opportunity and guidance toward becoming civically engaged citizens, scholars, and leaders. Many of the opportunities prepare students for their academic-lives after freshman year and career-lives after graduation.

The Building

Arnold Hall is located two blocks from the Mountainlair, and is convenient to downtown Morgantown. This attractive living environment has a dining hall, academic resource center, laundry facilities, and a fitness room with billiard and ping-pong tables.

Arnold Hall is divided into two sections: Main and Annex. Students in the Main section live in suites, which are two double rooms that share a bathroom and are joined by a common hallway. The Annex has single, double, and triple rooms, and community bathrooms.

Arnold Apartments (efficiencies), connected to Arnold Hall, is an apartment complex for sophomores, juniors, and seniors (two or three students to each efficiency). These apartments (bedroom area, kitchenette, bathroom, air-conditioning) are popular for their privacy, affordability, and convenience.
